What a year this is we are officially opening George the Mecanical horse.
Rda Horse Simulator George Horse riding has been seen to be beneficial to both physical and mental wellbeing. It is widely recognized as a valuable form of education, exercise and therapy. Many RDA groups across the country have benefited from knowing that their RDA riders, who have difficulties that vary in severity, can enjoy horse riding in a safe and controlled environment. Their participation in a sport they enjoy provides a sense of achievement and develops confidence, muscle strength and coordination.
The RDA Simulator is a five speed horse (walk to canter) offering the same life like action of a horse as in our other simulators. Other features include;
Therapeutic lateral action in all gaits – to improve muscle tone and strength
Saddle pad
Lower neck angle for ease of mounting and dismounting
Buttons on the side of the horse for the instructor to control the speed
Sensors for leg and rein control
Six riders have qualified at the regional qualifiers to go to National Championships. Emma Wells, Jackie Smeeton, Lisa Sumner,Julie Holmes, Karen Pockington and Sarah Suddaby.
We have been very lucky in being awarded a grant of £30,000 over 2 years. This has helped us to purchase much needed new saddles, bridles and reins. It has also help with our running costs.
